83 + 1

Today is the last day of school. This year's Summer Break is 83 days, shorter than last year's break of 87 days.

There were a few memories from earlier this week that I thought would be fun to get in the blog.

On Monday, there was a small get together for Andie and Bennett. They are twins in first grade, Andie is in Kai's class. I think Kai liked having Andie as a classmate (we heard her name often in the evenings), she was also in the same Kindergarten class last year.

Regardless, the twins had an afterschool party with Kona Shave Ice at a local park. It was a fun way to celebrate the day and the ending of the school year.

Kai has been thinking about turning 8 as well, so he made himself a birthday card.

Now on to Tuesday.

Heidi wrote this nice letter to give to Mrs. Gaffaney today.

Here is what Kai looked like on his last day of 1st grade. We didn't quite make the bus today - we talked about it briefly, but it didn't happen.

After school, I wanted to catch a photo of him waiting for me. I think he gets out of the classroom around 2:38PM...I normally leave home around 2:33 or so, and stroll up to him about 2:40 or so. This is what that scene looks like.

I think Kai took the bus on the last day of Kindergarten. Since I picked him up, I got to see what an actual last day looks like at the school

We have some activities planned for Summer, and I'm hopeful I can keep up the blog every day.
